PT Electrindo Inti Dinamika was entrusted to solve this problem by creating an andon system that would be implemented in the production environment of one of the manufacturing companies.
What is the Andon system?
Andon is a system used to display quality inspection status and tasks through visual signals in the production environment. The aim is to increase efficiency and responsiveness in the production environment. Each production zone is equipped with an Andon that displays the type of task to be performed and its duration. With this information, operators can work more purposefully, efficiently, and according to predetermined standards.
Background of the Problem
The background of this project is the unorganized flow of the production process in the work environment, resulting in differences in the quantity of output produced in each production line.
The quality inspection process often faces various obstacles, such as lack of transparency, difficulty monitoring progress in each production zone, and inefficiency in completing tasks.
Manual systems that are still widely used tend to take longer and have a high risk of errors, both in controlling and checking results. In addition, limited access to quality inspection data makes decision-making slow, hindering overall productivity.
To answer this challenge, a solution is needed that is able to provide transparency, efficiency, and ease of access in the product quality inspection process. Therefore, the Andon system comes as an answer to improve real-time quality management, ensure all tasks are completed according to specified standards, and provide full control to management through dashboards and mobile devices.

The purpose of this andon project is to provide a visual indicator of the flow of the production process in the work environment to run more efficiently and orderly.
